Nope. Doesn’t matter what engine you have, if you have the 8L45/8L90 transmission, you WILL experience the shudder.

I was worried after just buying my Camaro that I’d have this issue, and to be fair I haven’t really driven the car yet as it was just shipped to me and went into storage, but now I’m not as worried.
Didn’t pay much attention to what we already had, and hadn’t heard of the 8L issue until getting on this forum, but Wife has a 16 CTS with the 8L behind a 2.0T, 30k some miles, and it’s never done it. [My DD is a 17 XT5 also with an 8L behind a 3.6, nearing 30k, and it’s never done it.]*
Keeping my fingers crossed for the Camaro, but it still has 2 years on the Powertrain warranty so if it comes up I’ll get the fix.

*Edit: scratch this, it’s not an 8L. It’s an 8 speed but it’s transverse. Different tranny completely! My bad.

I'd get the latest fluid and flush done regardless of the shudder or not. Good preventative maintenance IMO.

Yep, gonna take it in as soon as it comes out of storage!

It only has 1900 miles on it and new TSB says no diagnostics required so I’m gonna insist on it being done as preventative, before trans gets damaged with older fluid. Luckily there’s half a dozen dealers within 20-30 miles of me, so if one gives me a runaround I’ll just go to another.

Perfect! I have around 10k on this new fluid/flush, and a few others have many more miles. I haven't heard of one where the issue has returned yet. So far this shows really good promise

To be honest with you, I really never knew about the shudder until I was browsing the forums. Around late summer, I read that dealers don’t need to diagnose for the issue, as long as you tell them the shudder is “present” they’ll perform the TSB. I did it back in September just to have the peace of mind and not having to worry about it.

Since then, the car has driven a hella lot smoother. If anything, the trans is shifting better and is a little more responsive. Only time will tell if this new fluid is truly the cure or is just a bandaid fix. My car is in storage as we speak, I’m definitely ready to drive it again!

My dealer pulled the can not duplicate it and then offered to do it for only $550. I refused but had them put it on my receipt. I also have an extended GM warranty and hope it will be covered under that one since I know have 64000 miles and can replicate it on command.
