CAI

I had the GM CAI installed today at the dealership I bought my Camaro from. I ordered the CAI online from an authorized GM parts dealer and had it shipped to my house. There is a definitely a difference in exhaust sound and responsiveness. I realize it’s not one of the best CAI out there but this one does it for me and it looks great under the hood! The dealership also tuned her up which also is a noticeable difference! Cheers!

I have a thread down in "Bolt Ons" asking opinions on this unit. I am just about to pull the trigger. Looks great.

I would definitely recommend it but then again this is my first Camaro and the first CAI I’ve bought! I’m glad I did it! Good luck!

Looks great, OP! I have the same CAI on my Camaro, but my vehicle is still equipped with the sound tube. Does anyone know the part number for the factory sound tube plug found on certain 2020+ SS models?

Very nice. How did it affect your exhaust sound?

The sound is definitely louder especially when getting on the throttle from let’s say 60mph to 80mph. I have the automatic but used the paddle shifters yesterday...the exhaust seemed louder and the gurgles while driving de escalating seemed louder!
Also from the tune the dealership conducted...the time difference gears while driving in automatic feels like it has changed a bit.

OP if you don’t mind me asking, how much was the CAI+ tune? How much was labor for installation? Do you notice any subtle power gains?

Bruiser, if you have the NPP exhaust then you could pull the Fuse 51 and set the exhaust to Track mode and it will sound real good with that new CAI! That’s what I did when I had my 2016 2SS.

The CAI was about $500 with tax....the tune is part of the install! I paid an additional $280 for the instal...I know... I know...it seems ridiculous to pay that much for labor but I’m not mechanically inclined (although I could probably do it myself) I wanted it done right and if any issues arise I can take it up with the dealer!
