I placed an order with modern spare last month I’m still waiting on the order to ship. They gladly took my money I’m becoming concerned just checking to see if this is isolated incident or is this another f**k up vender?

They have gone radio silent on my order. Anyone else received kit or partial kit from them since week of April 20th? Looking to see if anyone actually received an order not a promise to ship etc?

Ordered mine several months back and I was amazed at how quickly it got here. NOT trying to be a smart ass. But I called and ordered and it was at my door in like 2 days. Quick USPS/UPS/Fed-Ex unheard of in Montana.....short of expensive next day/2 day air.

I hope they are simply out of that model. Have You called and inquired? Your info may have gotten misplaced somehow ?

Yes I have called and received different reason why it’s not shipped.

First reason Modern Spare (MS )“kit bags not available for another week” I said ok ship tire
MS”ok and extra charge for shipping separate”

Me when you get ready to ship the bag notify me I will make a payment for separate shipping cost another week goes by nothing.

Call back what’s up

Second reason “oh we don’t have tires on they are on back order should be here around 1st week of month”.
I said we spoke before you said was bag now it’s tires on backorder?

MS “yes well we ran out of tires”
Me ok when do you anticipate shipment and orders filled?

MS “Well second week of month and by Oder placement date and your Oder is on list to ship first “

Ok second week rolls around and ends nothing I call back on Friday received email.
Third reason back first reason why
MS” going go out by Tuesday if carry cases come in early” WTH thought tires were the reason
MS “Here is the shipping label tracking # we get it out by end of day Tuesday” looked up details saying not shipped but expected delivery date Thursday



Well surprise surprise never shipped hence my concern.


Maybe they will maybe they want ship this week?

Now did anyone else receive shipment after week of April 20th?

Load of crap - ask for refund, if they refuse, dispute with CC company.

Listen I payed when I placed the order that’s how I do business. Yes I realize the rights pertaining to reversal of charges etc.

Before I go that route I want to know is it an isolated incident or smoke screen?

That’s why I’m posting to see if any orders placed since week of April 20th have been shipped and received or is about to be another one of those build collateral to be able to place orders from thier suppliers from end consumer? Followed by extended Product ship dates.

I ordered my Modern spare on May 8th. They were suppose to ship this week. I called today and surprisingly they actually answered the phone. They said the shipment truck was broke down which would delay my shipment for a couple more weeks.

Horrible customer service. Does not respond to e-mails. Rarely answers the phone when I call.

To bad they are our only option or I would cancel my order.

i have a question... i looked at their website and thought if i make my own kit ( piecing the kit together ) it's so much cheaper...

like why not go out and
buy a new or used cheap wheel ( same spec as that rim ) $75
buy new or used tire same size $50
you can look on ebay for regular jack $20
torque stick is $15
socket $5
total cost = $165 ... i know tire / rim won't be best but it's a temporary solution when you have a flat lol.. why pay them $350... just my thought ..

there has to be a space saver tire/rim from the boneyard that will work. As i recall some 6th gen modern spare kits need a spacer either front or back as it is. last time i was at u pull it they cost $15. You can find pinch weld scissor jacks also. then either a 4 way or ratchet .... the bag

Because not everyone wants to waste time going to 5 different places to piece together some junkyard spare tire kit when you can call one place and have a new one shipped to your door.

I ordered a kit on the 10th. The web page has a disclaimer at the bottom that "Due to high demand there is currently a 7-9 handling time on our complete spare tire kit".

I just called them and they answered after just a few rings. The person that answered the call repeated that "high demand" reason and claimed that my kit will ship next week. I guess I'll give them a few more days and see what happens.
