If your warranty is not expired, bulbs are most certainly covered!

My wife's SUV required a headlamp bulb replacement that involved removing the bumper, and it was covered.

By asking nicely, I got the bulb on the other side replaced too, for just the cost of the bulb.

Replacing both is recommended, since they typically go out within a short time of each other.

I had abroke bulb and the guys at the dealership said that these kind of electric parts only have warranty for 1000 miles :( I still havent replaced it. When turning the lights on manually the bulb flickers and then turns off, when using auto lighting, the bulb is always off. Any idea if it could be the complete headlight?

Lightbulb DIY

It's fairly easy to be honest.
I changed both by myself, recently changed the other headlight.

All you need is the D3S XenStart Philips HID bulb.
  • Remove the cover
  • Move the bulb anti clockwise and remove it
  • Take the bulb towards you, and remove the bulb from the electrical socket
  • All you do is pull the socket firmly and slowly
  • Attach the new bulb to the electrical socket and rotate it back in place

Just don't touch the glass bulb with your hands.

Hope this helps...

You have a 2017, the 2019+ SS has completely different headlights.
