UPF64R Oil filter

Got my oil changed today at my excellent local dealer's service department (5w-40 MST at no charge, thank you, Matthew!). The service manager informed me that master tech used UPF64R filter instead of the regular PF64 citing the R is better quality. Besides that it weighs 11 oz and has better/thicker material on the inside, does anyone have more fidelity on the topic? I briefly read through a post on the Vette forum, but not much info gained. Thanks.
