Would you buy a 2012?
What are your thoughts on buying the first year car? Is there anything I should be worry about? The car has 6k on it, and it is all stock. He is asking 41k what should be a decent price? Thanks!

The LSA has been in the CTS V Caddy since 2008.
The Chassis for the Camaro since 2009. Thats like saying the 2014 Z/28 is a first year model.

Has the SC recall been done yet? 6000 is nothing so I'm assuming it was a garage queen... Post pics if you get her.

I bought a 2012 and ended up having a new blower under warranty, the rear diff 3x drain/fill TSB for whine (which fixed it) and a new exhaust system due to the failure of the rear flaps under warranty. Everything else has been smooth sailing.
note, if they swap the blower make sure to check and bleed the blower coolant lines. Mine was underfilled by half a cup at least and full of air and the car was laggy. Once i bled it and filled it, whole new ballgame. Also be sure your bypass valve is set right too, mine was also much too far in on the screw and was making <7lbs. |

Haven't had a problem with mine. Some had a SC problem but not all of them. GM gave them a 10 yr / 100 mi warranty on the SC and the newer ZL1s are having problems too. Now there is a better up grade from GM. Some people like the back end better on the 12/13s than the 14/15s. Both are sharp cars. The only thing the 12 doesn't have is the Nav, but OnStar is a better Nav system anyway or use your phone.

I have a 2012 and have had the blower replaced under warranty. I bought the car in TX and then drove it home to OH. Once I got home it was knocking horribly. I was freaking out until I searched "ZL1 knock at idle" and found 100 videos of the SC noise. The tech at my local shop who did the repair is awesome. He is currently building his own CTS-V. He took the time to explain to me that the new SC still has the faulty isolator that goes bad. So when my powertrain warranty is up in July, I'm going to put the solid isolator in and do a smaller upper pulley and port the snout all in one shot. I love my car. Only thing I can think of that is better in '13 is that it has factory navigation. (but I don't need to have that anyway) I've put 5k miles on mine already with no issues other than the SC and diff whine.

Did they do the diff flush under warranty as well or did you have to pay for that? |

41k Seems a decent, I would go for 38-40k. I got a 2015 ZL1 for 48k brand new 0 miles, 20% of msrp end of the year deal.
As everyone mentioned the blower is a warranty issue, however the warranty is only valid until 2017 right? Its a 5 year warranty, so if nothing happens in the next year you would be out of pocket.

I would not hesitate in the least. As others have mentioned, the only big thing the 2012 doesn't have that later models do have is Nav. For 6K miles, $41K is a good price. I would offer $40K...6K miles is practically new, and it was probably babied. If you like the color, go for it!

Yup. Snatch it up. The only way it could be better is if it's Inferno Orange.

Thanks for the replies going to take a look at it tomorrow. From the pics I seen I looks perfect, and it happens to been color I am looking for. The only thing I wish it had was a sunroof but that's not a deal breaker for me.
