Decided to dip my silver 5 spoke wheels black. I kinda wanted the black ones to begin with but I got a much better deal on the one with silver wheels.

Looks great, you can keep the wheels relatively clean by wiping on some "armor all extreme tire shine". It works very well and does not abraid the plastidip. It give them a nice satin shine. Plastidip also makes a cleaner/ protectant but it doesn't work any better than the armor all stuff. I have tried both.....

Wow what a difference the black rims made. Looks much sportier and much more aggressive. Good job.

So I can put that directly on the wheels and it will help protect it? I was wondering about how to make them last because they are a bit rough to the touch and seemed hard to clean. I used black plastidip with gray metallizer on top so it has a dark gray look to them with a very light gloss.

That's what I wrote… Works fine...The only factory owned plastidip exclusive store is here in South Florida, and they are the ones that recommended it. That being said, don't expect miracles if the surface is rough and you have brembo brakes that get dusty as soon as they move. Wipe it on with an applicator, don't just spray it all over the place.

If you really want to keep them Pristine , you need to reduce the brake dust with any of the aftermarket pads that are available now.

I have them both and black is definitely my personal favorite. Wish I went with the black from the beginning.

Wanted the black split spoke, but they were unavailable when I ordered my car; it came with the 'silver painted' 5 spokes instead... They have since grown on me; added gorilla black lugnuts and GM 'performance' wheel centers to be a bit different
