Long time no see... GM Intake!

Hey!
On the Chevy Performance site, I saw that our pals at Cold Air Inductions now make the official, warranty-safe CAI kit for the SS. Saw a well-done video and I'm psyched. I also saw that it seems like it's been out since last summer or earlier. My dealer still shows it as not available but I am sure it IS outside of the GM Database. (I peeked online and saw some) BUT–

If anyone has it, and has gotten this official performance accessory elsewhere, please shoot me a referral and I will purchase. My dealer is beyond amazing, but just not sure when it will show up (on their end) as available.

WHEW that was a mouthful.

I think it's all relative; if I am putting it on a car that cost me over 40k and I want the dealer to deal with it if it throws a CEL like some people have said other brands have it may not be a crazy price. It also includes the tune, so I am not turned off at that price. Manufacturer branded parts are normally more expensive and I expected everything about the SS to be a bit more expensive, whether it's the premium fuel, the 10 quarts of oil, the ultra high performance tires, or the amount of car wash\detailing products I use on it.

I got mine from the Camaro Parts Guy with a veterans discount. I love the sound and the seats of the pants feel. My Redline SS sounds really gnarly with the Performance Exhaust valves open.

There is no performance gain but it does look good under the hood and makes better noise than the horrible sound tube.
