Those of you with mods that could violate your warranty won’t know for sure if the dealership won’t fix your Torque Converter issues if you don’t ask. This is a problem known to affect non-modified cars. As I understand it, they have to show that your mods caused the issue. I think they’ll be hard-pressed to make that linkage here, but they might.

Worth a try...

Took my 16 SS A8 in for a TC replacement today. Did the triple flush a handful of months ago, but only kept the shudder away for roughly 4k miles. Just as my dealer was about to install the new TC, they where halted and I was called. I too was told of the fix planned for 1st quarter 2019. Bulletin attached.

this is new. can you post the entirety of that? That way we can make sure it lists all of the years of vehicles and possibly numbers we don't have yet.

That "fix" in 2019 better come soon...I am going to hold off on bringing my car in for the 3rd time to fix my A8 until this fix is known. I am going to contact my dealership and have them call me when that fix is available.

I wonder what this new fix is? I am debating about modding my car now until after it comes out.

I have questions for this as well. What is the fix. will it apply to those already "fixed".

if they are readily admitting that whatever they've done so far won't work permanently, then those of us with the "fix" will, by their words, require it again, only possibly after the warranty is out. That I have a problem with.

I'd be tickled pink if its new fluid with a flush, new converter, and tuning the slip tables out. That should fix the issue permanently. should.

I know in the past history being a GM owner, anytime you’ve had a car in for warranty work and the warranty ran out with issues still occurring, they’ve always continued to honor the warranty for that specific issue. That was then, we shall see what now brings.
Right now mine is running fine....

Just posting up a pic of my invoice so others can compare.

I will say I’ve had no issues since and I’ve been running it harder and harder each time I’m behind the wheel. No shudder, no issues thus far.

Got mine back from the dealer Saturday after tranny flush with TC replacement.

I didn't realize how bad the shudder had gotten. Tranny shifts smoother in 1,2,3 and accelerating around 50+ is free of the running over rumble strips feeling.

Now the real question is how long will it last and how long will it take GM to come up with real solution not a bandaid.

Here is my invoice. You guys see anything on it I missed in my hurry to GTFO there.

Though the highlight of my Saturday besides getting the car back was this letter from my state's Attorney General office to GM regarding my complaint on their lack of repair action and stopping TC replacement.
