Will there not be any legal issues with GM for these?

I don't think there will be an issue, the LFX designation is not trademarked, or service marked by GM.

LSX, is however trademarked as a "standard character mark" (word), but there is no logo associated with it, or trademarked separately...

I looked at the Emblem Pros website, and to me it looks like only emblems saying a GM model name, and using the same model name font are listed as GM licensed. Not sure if that applies to everything on their site GM related?

I'm sure Emblem Pros could probably make any of you an emblem very similar to what I have designed. I have no desire to get into making custom emblems, so Emblem Pros if you happen to read this, any info would be appreciated...

However, once I've made a few, if you guys like how they look, I will gladly sell you some of this emblem only (Like I said, I don't want to get into making custom emblems, it would be far too costly to make one off's in the manner I am going about it) as I will already have made a mold for it, because I want them made like this, so this is why I'm attempting to make them myself. Once the mold is made, I can easily make them in black, white, cold cast aluminum, etc, and make the letters almost any normal color... Exact Camaro Color matched letters might be a stretch, but I think I could get close with some experimenting. Each one would be hand cast plastic, so there is a bit of time involved to make them...

Once I receive the pieces from the 3d printer, I'll clean them up and make a mold... I'll post pictures once I have a few pieces made.

I would love a set that is just the molded plastic. I would custom paint it to match my car myself. Always fun to be able to make it just like you picture it in your head anyway.

I know what you mean... My next big purchase is going to be a 3d printer... Fortunately, they have a nice one at the local community college and they will run parts for people to keep it running so the students have something to watch/do... Very reasonable on their prices too.

Yes! Exactly this! I've thought many times that the LFX needed an emblem with the same X as the LSX.

Looking forward to the final result. I'd be interested in a purchase if you end up selling some, but given that you don't want to get too deep into making them, I'd also like to ask: any chance you might release an STL file so those of us with a 3D printer could spin one off ourselves?

Thanks.

I just don't want to get deep into selling other emblems... If these turn out nice, I would like to sell some to offset the cost of having them 3d printed, and mold making materials...

I'm told I need to make a couple tweaks to the file before it can be successfully 3d printed, which I will try to do tonight, or tomorrow. Sure, at some point, I will release the STL file so people can 3d print them if the have their own 3d printer, or access to one. I think I will also add a modified design that will say "3.6L - 323 HP" under the LF, but I will not be making a mold to produce those as I just want mine to say LFX, but would allow people to have them 3d printed if they wanted that option.
