DIY: Heated Mirrors Upgrade (Wiring Harness)
I can't tell you all how much I love heated mirrors - it's a silly thing, but to me, they're the best. I did a similar upgrade on my 2013 1LT thanks to a DIY write up by Yzark99. While that project on the 2013 model ended up being plug-and-play, it wasn't quite that easy on my 2018 1SS.
After researching and troubleshooting with my better half, we discovered it's not as tough as we expected - he whipped up a wiring harness and boom, those mirrors are clearing off mist/moisture (but not frost yet, since it's June ) as expected. Here are the materials used:
Thanks to KirkH for the write up on removing/replacing the mirrors themselves, I won't get into that again here: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=483340 Some backstory on the troubleshooting efforts for those interested:

Connecting the Wiring Harness (see photos):
I've gained lots of knowledge from this forum in the last several years, so I hope this contribution will help someone else! Last edited by JessicasCamaro; 06-30-2020 at 12:19 PM. |

Has anyone else tried this??? I would love if anyone can confirm this.... I don’t understand wiring so I can copy the pics but it’s not cold enough for me to test this

I can confirm mine are still working and have been getting quite the workout this winter, but sounds like my experience may not be enough evidence for you. They will also defog on humid mornings, so you won't have to wait on frost to confirm functionality.

The OEM side mirrors has to be from a 2SS?

To my knowledge the the 2SS did include the heated mirrors, but I believe they were also available (maybe as a package?) on some of the other trim models as well. I purchased mine on eBay.

Does anybody know if there is heated mirror glass available that doesn't have the blind spot indicators on it? So far I can only find them for the 6th gen either as "mirror only" without heat or any other options, or as "fully loaded" so it isn't only just heated but also has the auto dimming, light sense and the always visible indicator for blind spot warning.
These are the part numbers I've found: Mirror without any features: 23487737 (left) 23487738 (right) Mirror with auto dimming and blind spot: 23487740 (left) 23487741 (right) My concerns with the loaded mirrors are that auto dimming mirrors can turn brown over time (or is that not an issue with these?) and having a non-functional blind spot indicator is not ideal... Is there maybe an aftermarket manufacturer that makes a set of 6th Gen Camaro mirrors with just heat?

There is also the Asia mirror glass with the Arabic script and the big EU/AS unit, but indeed I don't think a part with only the heater but no auto dimming or blind spot indicators exists, there is no trim it would go into.
I personally wouldn't mind the dead blind spot indicators in this case, esthetically it is a bit weird, but having the heater is probably more important for you, sviveen. I've had the original auto dimming driver side mirror glass on my 2SS for 5+ years (thanks to GM's penny pinchers, the passenger side isn't auto dimming on any Camaro), and it hasn't turned brown even the slightest bit.

They came standard on my 2LT and ZL1. Never needed them since they live in a garage in Texas.
