Nice perk for you when you go to trade / sell. One owner is always good to see.

Good point.

Plus, it's June, not January, and Chevy just unveiled a facelift on the Camaro that was instantly, and almost universally despised and mocked, and next year, the ZL1 gets smacked with the Ugly Stick too.

If I am a dealer, that all adds up to me telling people on the phone to come pay us a visit and have a cup of coffee.

I think the "If you don't buy it, somebody else will" mentality is probably pretty valid here.

This.

After daily driving my '16 2SS for over 75k miles, and then stepping into a ZL1, I am constantly amazed at how two cars that share so much engineering can feel SO different.

So a quick AutoTrader search shows me a grand total of about 5 ZL1 1LEs within 500 miles of where I am sitting here in California that are just sitting in showrooms collecting dust, and waiting for a forever home. (Search options: New, 2018, Manual, ZL1, 500 mile radius of 91710)

There are probably 45 million people in that same radius, so the ratio tends to support the dealer's argument.

Surprisingly, one of those cars is about a mile and a half from me, on the floor of my local little Chevy dealer, (MK Smith) and two of them are located at a dealer in a small town in NorCal who seem to be making a reputation for selling ZL1s with no dealer adjustments or other mark-ups. I know a man who bought one from them late last year, when everyone was trying to get $5000+ over sticker (Greenwood Chevrolet in Hollister, CA)

I bought my non-1LE car from Glendora Chevrolet in March, and they had a strong ZL1 inventory at that point in time (5 cars, including a 1LE, which I test drove) if you want to call them, ask for Chris B. or Rashad, who are track junkies and car guys that sell Chevys for a living.

ZL1 1LEs ARE rare, and awesome. Not exactly LaFerrari rare, but I drive around L.A. every day, and I have noticed maybe 3-4 1LEs on the road since I bought my car this spring.

Happy hunting. The car is worth it.

Its more like if you don't buy it, someone else someday may not know how to use the internet. Really, it is not a big deal to go 500+ miles to save $6,000.

My local dealer has a 1LE where they want $69,000. It technically is a used car, because I hope it was just titled for some reason. Who knows why with 100% assurance? IMO, used should mean a savings because you are not the first owner. Anyway, I showed them an offer I had on the same car, new with better options. They did not want to talk. They still have it, I have a better 1LE and saved about $6,000 even factoring in flight and gas.

When I told their salesman that I was buying the other car because they would not even discuss lowing their price, he himself brought up the Z28. And, it sounds like they held on to one too long and lost money on it. They need to sell cars, not wait for the next sucker.

Oh and I did go in and talk to them face to face. They still did not want to talk about a market price. Heck, I would have paid higher than market just to buy local.

Bottom line, google is your friend. You can not only find deals, but of any reported problems with a dealership. Of course, saving only $1,000 and having to drive or have it hauled 1,500 miles is not a good deal LOL.

It wasn't THAT bad. Every time the Mustang or Camaro gets a facelift people start with the trash talk. Maybe they should just do like Dodge and keep it the same for years...

That is where I bought mine. They also give 100,000 mile free maintenance. I paid $62k for mine, but that is when they first came out. I would love the get the 1LE.

I get gms. I ordered mine and the had zero issue with giving me that. I also at the time got a 1000 customer cash. If you can get gsu from someone that is a good route to go if the dealer will honor it. They don't have to but someone should if there are multiple dealers in your area.

It sold a lot of cars for them..

An appearance change is probably what this car needed LEAST to move more units, yet here we are.

You have to understand why people aren’t apt to believe a simple “I paid $12+ under MSRP”. There’s been more than one AMAZING deal posted but yours would take the cake by a long shot. Help us fellow members out with our future purchases!
Well said. Agreed ^^^

I got 3K off MSRP for my 1LE three weeks ago here in northern NJ.

1K was being offered by the dealership right off the bat.
2K came from me owning a non GM vehicle (my hellcat).

hope that helps.
