Slow Cranking (video)

Has anybody else experienced their car cranking super slow after being driven. I know these cars crank for a while to start when cold but I am talking about it starting slow, sounds as if it won't start then pauses for a second and then fires up. I'll go on a drive and video it then upload later. I don't think that it is a battery issue but maybe my starter is burning out...https://youtu.be/XcreOcLb64o

I have never had this issue. It sounds like the battery to me; they do funny things to these heavily computerized vehicles when low. I'd take it to the dealer for their input.

DI and high compression = longer than expected cranks

Cold climates are even worse.

I'm not talking about the long cranks that this car does when cold. It literally doesn't crank right, look at video link I posted

I did and didn't hear anything odd, but then it was hard to hear in the video. Have you checked the voltage on the battery before starting it in one of these situations? Could be a bad ground showing up when hot cranking.

Edit: Went back and heard it with headphones. Yea definitely not normal. Does it cold start fine?

I'd say back to the dealer for that.

The long cold start cranking is on purpose to give the mechanical high pressure fuel pump some time to build the needed pressure for the direct injectors. What the OP has going on per my ears in the video is totally different. Its an abnormally slow crank.

At the dealer right now. Battery is fine, the starter might be bad.

Yep. Sounds just like a failing or heat-soaked starter.

I'm not trying to be a dick but comments like these are uncalled for. The OP had a legit question and was looking for help. If you know the answer why not just post a link to the thread. I looked and haven't seen anything written similar to his problem. I mean that's what these forums are for ain't it? So we can all talk about our cars and ask questions and get answers. The more info out there the better.
