67 RS for a 14-15 Z
Ok, i told my buddy id give this a shot for him. This dude is a thoroughbred, he’s probably owned a dozen Camaros, among other high dollar chevrolet stuff. He is currently finishing his 67 RS. Its just about there, it needs paint and body to be ‘perfect’. Otherwise, completely re-done. New drive train is a 355 backed by a muncie 4 speed. Its a great cruiser toy. He is feeling out if anyone would trade him a Z/28 for his 67. I can vouch for his attention to detail and Camaro know how and that the car is a great little driver car.

I think he would have to throw 10k on the hood of that RS. That’s just my opinion.

A '67 RS with no heritage aka non-Z/28, non SS396 has no real collector value. It's a nice car but it's a $25k car in great shape, and a $35k car in absolutely flawless condition. Still a bit short to be a fair trade.

Ive been busy and lost track of this thread. To be clear, i do not personally know his idea of trade. Maybe that means money on top, or he might pair another car into the deal, OR, maybe he wants a straight across trade. All i told him is I would pass along your email address or phone number if someone was looking to get into a 67 and out of a 14/15 Z.
I cant speak for him, and certainly wont spend his money for him. He just knows I have a plug into the 5th gen Z crowd. |

FWIW
Looks like the haters killed this thread before it ever had a chance. I don't know why people do that. The purpose of these forums, I've always thought, is to help each other as car people. Some of the basic requirements of membership are being constructive and not being hateful. It's not for me to speak for the owner of the 67, but I do know the OP well. This guy has owned and built numerous cars, including a 15 Z, which he has actually tracked multiple times at multiple tracks, which is a heck of a lot more than I can say for most of us. Add to that the fact that he spent years as an engineer at GM. In short, if it's worth his time, then I'm listening. I'm not calling out anyone individually, but it seems to me that if you don't have a Z or something similar to trade, and you aren't interested in a 67, then there probably isn't any point in posting.

Pump the brakes big guy. Marcus is a well respected member here (who doesnt toot his own horn, and doesnt need someone to get his back either) I think we all can agree on that. Haters killing a thread? Nah brah. Just passionate members who understand the market, and that a basic 67 Camaro doesnt command the same straight up price as one of our 5th gen Z/28s. Plenty of educated opinions of where that threshold would exist in your perceived hater posts. Take a step back, read the other threads made on the only 5th Gen community forum to see what this group is about. Heck, buy a 5th gen Z/28 and stay a while.

In my opinion, it’s a lot easier to just treat these things as two transactions. Finish the 67, sell it and then go buy the Z/28. You open yourself up to a much larger market that way. On a trade like this, the only people who are legit parties to the trade are people that have a Z/28 they want to get rid of and want a Gen 1 Camaro. That’s probably a pretty small group.
