Bye bye SBE

I will no longer be SBE next year. Had fun fo sho. Hurt the engine on the dyno 2 weeks ago testing my 5" intake and so I've got to pull the engine. I'm not messing around with another bottom end so I'm going to build something as bullet proof as possible. I said last year if something happened to my fresh build I was building a stroker so here I am.
Eagle 416 rotating assembly
Mahle pistons -4cc
ARP 2000 rod bolts
Clevite bearings
ARP main studs
12.3:1 compression
Im building as strout and robust as I can afford.
I'll still be running 243/255 cam and PRC 260 heads with the Edelbrock Pro Flo manifold. Good thing for those that know I'll have SBE to 416 dyno comparisons 😆 although it will be a half point more compression along with the added displacement. Everything has been ordered and most has already been shipped.

Dang... sorry to hear about the motor but that bad boy had some miles on anyway.

Look forward to this one for sure.

Yes 12.3:1 compression.
I made 518rwhp SBE with the same parts so I doubt I'll gain 100hp off 40ci and 1/2 point in compression.

I'm thinking mid 10s, down from your 11.059 run ...

I've ran in the 10s but couldn't back it up so I don't claim it.

I lost a lifter and rocker arm. Gotta pull the motor so I’m looking at the 416 myself. What fuel are you gonna run with that compression?

That’s too bad about your SBE. I’m interested in how it compares to your old setup. I got the LS3 out of my car that needs rebuilt, including a new crank before I use it in anything. Was thinking about going with a higher compression N/A setup.

What exactly happened to it? I'm surprised you hurt it NA. Didn't you have a centri blower on before making a bunch more power? The heads lived?

I believe it's a wrist pin issue.
I'm not surprised on it happening. Just at a bad time.
