Well, a lot of it comes down to how much power do you want to make, what kind of powerband (ie, all top-end which is big boost big turbo lots of lag), what other supporting mods (ie, what about fueling, are you doing cams, valvesprings, etc, what about intercooler, running meth, E85, etc), then you have the whole aspect of who is doing the tuning (are they local, remote, etc)...
And that is just the tip of the iceberg. The more power the more considerations you need to have and things that need to be covered. Ultimately, if you want a bump in power without going crazy, look at a hybrid turbo. Otherwise you have the Z54/ZFR-6758 as the "midrange" options and then you have the MHI "upgrade" or Z57 or ZFR-7163 as the "big turbos" that need ALL the supporting stuff. Even some of the bigger hybrids will need fueling mods. For the smaller of the hybrids you have the ZZP Big Wheel turbo or the Turbo-Bay Stage 1. That is a great bump in power, and with forged pistons/rods you don't have to worry about fueling or anything else. There are some smaller hybrids that offer around the same amount of boost, so there are plenty of options. Next to the midrange hybrids you have the like of the Turbo-Bay Stage 2. The upper-end of the hybrids is stuff like the Turbo-Bay Stage 3 or the Turbos-R-Us 20g Hybrid. Again, lots of options, but you have to set a whole lot of parameters before you can get a suggestion from others. |
