The first racing game i fell in love with, and the game that really got me into racing games was "Test drive 2: the dual" featuring 3 cars, a ferrari f-40, a porsche 959 and i forget the other one.

The second: Road rash!

all on sega genesis.

But Stunts was a lot better, until we lost the manual. It was coded so that you crashed unless you entered the proper code word from the manual.

I learned how to drive stick playing Stunt Driver at the Arcade in the mall. It had a 4 on the floor and all three pedals. If you let out on the clutch too fast it would actually stall. You had to push the clutch in and hold the start button to restart the car.

Old School racing when I was a kid involved two Big Wheels and a lot of trash talking. That little girl down the street thought she was sooo cool 'cause hers was pink.

The legendary arcade game Death Race. Based on the Roger Corman classic 1975 movie Death Race 2000 (David Carradine, Sylvester Stallone) you race around and fatally knock over pedestrians for points. Parents banned the game in 1976.

I loved Sega's attempt to cash in on the popularity of Happy Days with their arcade game The Fonz.

Also, Namco's F1, distributed by Atari in America. This projector style game was very loud. Someone aptly described it as like having a UFO land on your head, true say! Both 1976 games.

I remember a game I had for the computer, I know it isn't a console game or arcade game. But it was called interstate 76 and u got these cars from the 70s like the gremlin and muscle cars and u could mount like turrent mounted m60s on and missles and u could even put the engine u wanted in the car u had. I loved that game

I really enjoyed Street Rod 2. Was a pretty awesome game that let you buy a project and work on it. There were limited options as to what you could do, but I remember being able to swap motors, modify the motor, and change various body parts and the wheels and tires.

It was made in 1991 so I was pretty young when I just started playing. I wonder if maybe that game sparked my interest in vehicles, who knows? haha
