Question for those familiar with tuning with HP tuners

What is the norm for KR Sensors section and Misfire section? Do most of you leave them stock, slight bumps? Or big bumps in settings to desensitize?

IMO I would think they get adjusted if needed, but not desensitize just cause you don't want to see anything in the log?

Well, i dont have great info, so wasnt going to chime in, but since its been a few days and no responses, ill add my 2 cents. The trick is knowing if and when you are getting real knock. Only sure way is on a dyno... and not even necessarily then, so its probably experience more than anything.

For me, i did an eth conversion, and was in a fuel and timing combo that absolutely no way should have any knock... and it was showing up. So it was just a judgement call. I raised the knock thresh 10% at a time until it was minimal KR. I think my my knock sensor thresh is around 4.8 or something currently. Ive seen them in the 6's on some tunes.

Long story short, i dont think theres a standard value you can just safely apply without considering the whole picture. I would say stock sensors are tuned to be very sensitive and could prob be raised by 10% with low risk, but beyond that i cant say. 10% isnt much but helped quiet some of the KR noise. My opinion is better safe than sorry.

Thanks...i think im at 8% now and will just leave it. I still don't show any KR.

If you’re not seeing any KR, why did you want to raise it more…?

I wouldnt touch the knock sensor sensitivity. If you are seeing knock then you need to see if its false knock or not before adjusting the sensitivity.

I have the HP at stock setting, and still get small knock readings on WOT, I think they're just false readings since my lamda reading is around .85 with E-85 and one step colder plugs
