Suspension Stiffness Gone after Accident

Good day everyone. I hope all is well.

Here’s my current issue:

An elderly driver slams into my 1LE a couple months back. The impact obliterated my driver’s side fender/front bumper and tire section.

Get the vehicle back from the collision center and right away the car feels like it has no MRC and the stiffness was gone.

I have the collision center send it to the dealership to have the shocks recalibrated.

I double check with personnel to assure the suspension parts are all “1LE” specific.

I was “told” they are.

After the calibration, the car stiffened up, but only slightly.

The tour mode feels terrible (like there’s zero shock dampening).

The sport mode feels slightly better, but 80% less stiff compared to the way it was before.

The track setting is the only one that makes the car feel stiff, which is comparable to the pre-accident Sport mode.

The dealership says they tuned in as it was from the factory.

Without question, it doesn’t feel like the FE4 suspension. The current track mode lets me know the shocks appear to have a less aggressive tuning.

Any thoughts on how I should navigate this?

Thanks in advance…

Was there a repair order with part numbers? That should be available to you or your insurance company. That would at least give you the opportunity to see if the correct 1LE parts were ordered and are on there.

Correct Uncle Sam…

The parts have checked out so far, but I’m going to check every suspension part number to verify.

If all the parts are accurate, I would think it’s the tune on the shocks….

If the collision center is no help, you can tell your insurance company and they can decide to send it straight to a Chevy dealer for repairs that will be supplemented on your claim from the accident. You might want to get them involved and let them know your car is not right as soon as you can.
