Can anyone confirm the correct inlet size to order?
And/or show some pics of their installed Black Quad Exhaust Tips?
Thanks!

Can someone confirm what the correct inlet size is for the dual mode exhaust quad tips ? I've seen 2.25", 2.5" and 2.75" inlet size ones.
And for outlet size current quad tips are 3.5" wide - definitely looks like 4" will fit as well.
Can someone with red tail or other black tips at 3.5" or larger outlet size post pics of them?
Thanks very much!

Check out this thread if you haven't already. A lot more background. It seems to be 2.25" but not quite sure myself based on that thread.

For outlet size, 4.5" will fit (maybe tight). The AWE tips I believe are 4.5". 4" fits fine with no problem if you look at the pictures in that thread.

Looking at these additional two threads (1 & 2), seems it is indeed 2.25".

I measured mine, the inlet is indeed 2.25".

As to outlet diameter, 4.5" fits but it's awkwardly large vs the diffuser, it reminds me a bit of the chimneys/tuna cans slapped onto bro dozers and ricer JDM cars. My sweet spot would be somewhere around 4, maybe 4.25", but even that is stretching it a bit.

Thanks for confirming. Tips are low priority for me at the moment but still looking around. Surprisingly hard to find decent options that are not crazy overpriced. I think 4.25" will be probably perfect.

Thanks for the links - the Red Tail tips in the first thread w/2.25" inlet and 4" outlet size looks like perfect size for me. I don't need to try to push beyond 4" outlet size and I really like the length and the angled cut which from the picture looks like it fits perfectly.

Ordered on Amazon!
Thanks!

Speaking of these tips, either amazon's rating system is borked, or I'm missing something crucial. This product got 9 reviews, 7 of them five stars, 2 of them one star.

In a primitive "rating system" that would be an average of 4.11 stars [(7*5 + 2*1) / 9]. In amazon's, it's somehow 2.5 (??). Even considering their explanation of assigning different weights based on purchase and recency, there are only 2 one-star reviews, it's disingenuous to attribute so much importance to so few data points. Even if there is only one verified buyer, one of the one-star reviewers, this just isn't enough information to establish a rating.

BatMobileLT1, sorry about the digression, do let us know how these tips work out.

Sure weekend_cruiser - Will do, thanks!

And arpad_m - Yes, I noticed that odd Amazon rating but it looks like just one or two low ratings and some odd arithmetic so I think they will be fine.

Here is my overdue update after getting the Red Tail black tips installed:
It was definitely not an easy install - I had to find a custom exhaust shop to do it and they quoted me to do it for no more than 2 hours of labor but I think it actually took longer. It is a very tight fit to cut off the stock silver quad tips and then fit and weld in the new ones so make sure you find a good install shop if you go for it.
I do really love the look of having them black and that they are slightly larger (4” inches vs stock 3.5”) definitely also looks better!
Here is the one before and several after install pictures below.

Dang, that looks really good! I noticed a review on the Amazon thread reporting paint chipping during welding. Did you experience any such thing during install? How is the quality of the tips overall?

Yes - I saw that negative review but the quality of the tips seems good to me and I have noticed no chipping issue at install or after - so far so good
