For sure. inputting the code for each start up with IGLA will get old quick.

You can se the proximity to like 1 foot for the FOB, and just keep it in your pocket.

If I go with IGLA over the keetec rider I already know 100% i'd use a fob. My friend has it on his lexus and he lasted about 2 days using the buttons to deactivate igla.

In addition to immobilizers, you should also scan for tracking devices:

Having it work properly now on mine its pretty easy. Press in clutch, hit start, let out clutch, immediately type in code when dash lights backup, watch for the indication then start.

That being said check out the Ampire Can Bus Immobilizer as a DIY solution, I wish I knew about it before I shelled out the $1300 USD for the IGLA install :(

I have the IGLA installed now though so not worth getting removed but I since now I know about Ampire for the future I will recommend and use that. It has a wide range of support too not as extensive as IGLA but pretty close.

Hey Jaitg,
Can you elaborate on why/how the Ampire system is better than the IGLA? Thanks

I have the Keetec coming in the mail, going to use a Faraday Pouch hidden if I don’t want to carry around the the fob for some reason or another. That’s if the pouch will actually work blocking the signal.

From a quick glance, it looks like the KEETEC is the same/offset to the IGLA. Are you planning to install this yourself? How much is it? Thx Calvary

Yes, I plan on installing it myself. Disassembly will be the same procedure as changing out the start button.

I pull the starter relay out of mine. It is pretty easy to access, takes less than a minute. Not super convenient but it's better than filing a stolen vehicle report.

For what it's worth, I bought this OBD2 port off of Amazon to be a dummy and zip tied the actual port up and under the dash. It snaps in perfectly:

Fool proof? Nah. Enough for one of these thieves to get frustrated and walk away? Maybe. Mine is garaged, so figure they would have to do this in a parking lot which may mean time is of the essence to them.

If someone wants it bad enough they will get it. Mine sits in my garage with a locked garage door, alarm system, 2 cameras watching the garage and on a lift with a truck parked under it. You would have to break in, avoid the cameras, remove the truck which had a 550hp 383 with Flowmaster which is as loud as my alarm first, lower the car and take it. It’s been parked like this for 5 years for no reason then I’m over protective. With all this I’m sure someone could come and take it at anytime.
