What's your E content

Curious what others are running with regular Rotofab, catless longtube headers, and presently at E29.. Will I be safe going up to E50 or jus keep it around saying E 35-40 for now atleast.

Let your tuner determine that. But with a low side like a JMS you can run 50-55%

I can run 60-65% with an LT4 low side (same as yours) plus a JMS voltage booster. This is an LT1 with forged internals, so not the same engine, but the fuel system is the same LT4 you have.

I believe you have a cam with a larger fuel lobe? That makes a significant difference. AFR also has to be considered.

Most stock internal LT4's with stock fuel system can run about E65-E70 @ .84 lambda. With headers, ported supercharger or pulley (whatever gets to 12-13psi), and 4" cai, E50 is about the limit @ .84. Some tuners lean them out to .85-.86 and that will allow more E. Some tuners run .81-.82 and that will limit the amount of E even further.

Either way all cars are different. need to log both high and low fuel pressures along with injector pulsewidth. Anything above 6.0ms is out of fuel and going to start losing power.

I run E60 @ .83 with XDI +30, LPE HPFP, and JMS low side with LT4 pump. Stock internal LT1 with about 10 psi of boost. Same fuel system on a ZL1 can run E60 @ 14psi. LT1 @ 10 psi makes similar power to a LT4 @ 13-14psi due to compression and cam difference.

Yes, that's true, I have a cam with a +32% fuel lobe (sigh).

At E60 and .83 lambda, my boost is around 10-10.5 psi, injector pw is 5.5-5.6 ms, so there is some reserve, which I like, being nearly a thousand miles from Ted's shop in case I blow the whole thing up, and of course I can't fix it

Yeah, I'd be real careful about your E content and ensure you have open dialog with your tuner on what they see through your datalogs. I'd say do what they think is best and even err on the side of caution and roll a little lower than that.

Agreed, he actually did tell me to put it between 45-50 % then bring it back in 2weeks for a retune. So I'm gonna do 40% jus to be extra safe. From E 29 to E40 I'm thinking will be a small gain but not much.
I'm only having second thoughts because a zl1 bogged out at the track and was on E41.I no it was probably his tune but it made me think. #paranoid lol I really appreciate yaws input

Good call! That is a good spot to keep it, so you have some breathing room for cooler weather.

This right here. The amount of E content you can run varies from vehicle to vehicle and that unknown factor changes even more when you start introducing mods into the mix. Let your tuner determine how much you can run unless you know exactly what parameters to look at and how to make adjustments based on that. If you are asking you probably don't though. (which is okay!)

Same here... with a JMS I am approved for E50 when hot and E40 when cold. We tried E60 and that was too much.

e40 @ .83. Some smart people think .83 is more than just a tad rich. Thinking about .84 -.85 to see what she'll tolerate.

You can run them leaner with ethanol. Ethanol has the ability to pull hot air out of the cylinder so you dont need as much fuel.

Anywhere from 82-85 i think is acceptable. In this range makes the most power.

I'm running E65 to 70 and that's what comes out our pumps here in Mid Missouri so I don't have to do any mixing. Running 23 degrees including the flex fuel advance, Afr is right at 12.5 on 10.2 or so boost. I also have toohighpsi port injection and running a JMS booster for extra voltage. No issues with injector pulse or low side fueling on stock Lt1 High side and Lt1 injectors and stock in tank pump which appears to be Lt4 pump. Maybe.
