Can the v6 take E85? If so any idea what the gains are?

You know you will need a e85 kit, dont put it in your car without it.

Not yet, working on a prototype kit. On an LFX 3.6, the gains with Overkill E85 tune over 93 octane tune are about 12-15 wheel horsepower, and the LGX should perform the same

i have ran e85 in many of my cars with out swapping any thing into the car. the only "kit" you are referring to is a flex fuel kit and thats so you can mix regular fuel and e85. if you want to run straight e85 and leave other fuel behind there is nothing else to swap. go get your car drained filled and tuned on a dyno.

I believe the biggest differences I recall with the former V6 engines is that when tuned for E85 and ran with it, the TQ was a bigger improvement than peak HP.

Seems like this thread got dormant for a year. i thought i'd wake it up, lol.

Anyone has any inputs regarding E85 and tune on our V6 ? i am considering it, but wanted to make sure the install for the E85 kits that have been mentioned before doesn't require getting under the rear of the car like the fuel pump and stuff. and any performance gains you guys seen on a dyno, or quarter mile?

I will appreciate anybody's recent experience with the E85 tune.

also interested in this. With 87 octane rising past 3 bux and E85 still at about 1.95 I'd like this even for the savings

Your savings will be minimal, if you get any at all. E85 is used in greater amounts than E10 gasoline, so your mileage will drop significantly. Like, 20-30% lower. E85 is for power gains (and a "greener" fuel), with the best gains with boost.

Right now its all or nothing with E85 you can do a full E85 tune as no flex fuel options are available. And doesnt look like it will be an option.

I get about 350 miles mostly highway out of a full tank of E85 and usually got just short of 480-500 on a tank of 93.. So its a 30% loss in MPG but with E85 to premium price difference its actually cheaper to run E85 right now. I can get E85 for $2.15 Premium is pushing 3.50-3.60 sometimes more.

So more power cleaner running fuel engine LOVES it.. = to or less to run then 93 rightnow there is no downside other then availability.. but I have a few stations around me.

Cool, thanks all for your inputs. I guess if i end up going for E85 i should start first with a portable tank full of E85 so i can burn any remaining 87 octane while I pwn a "Rustang" on the way to the dyno tuning shop,

Overkill tune with the 80mm Throttlebody/Ported Intake Manifold combo on E-85 has dynoed at 310 rear wheel horsepower and is readily available!!

Just curious... What kind of gains can be expected with that setup on 91? I don't think I've seen that posted up yet. And have dyno sheets been posted up for the e85? Thanks for all the work you guys are putting in for these cars
