Line lock and getting the most out of it

So I'm just finishing my first set of of f3s off.
I'd like to be able to leave a nice strip coming off the line coming out of line lock but it seems the car shuts itself down not long after releasing line lock.
Is this just the way it is or is there a way to override the shut down out off the break burn?

Line lock is for burnouts, not launching.

I believe the line lock holds itself for 15 seconds but you can end it early by pressing the middle buttons on either side of the steering wheel at the same time. The on/off for the cruise and the ok button.

I think you can end it early but am uncertain. And for it shutting itself down, I'm not certain on that either. There hasn't been a reason for me to use it yet......

Look in the manual and it will tell you how to operate it.

Why don't you do an oldschool, no line lock burnout then for this one last rubber hurrah?

From Al O, on line lock:

Quote:
The function is activated through the launch control menu when the car is in Track mode and the transmission is in Drive or first gear. Once the line is activated in lock in the instrument cluster screen, the driver presses 80 pounds of pressure on the brake pedal. A status bar in the multifunction screen show a readout up to 100 percent. Then, mash the gas and light up the tires. The feature is intended for prepping for a drag strip run. But wait, there's more. Press both center buttons on the steering wheel pads - cruise control on the left and select on the right - and a rolling burnout kicks in. Line lock works for 15 seconds before cutting throttle.
See page 24 of the attached pdf.

Line lock lasts for 15 seconds and all it does is lock the front brakes.

It's totally up to you how long you want the burnout to last.

Line lock helps you get the tires spinning good, then you can push the buttons on the steering wheel (middle one on each side) and it releases line lock so you will start to roll forward. Keep your foot in the gas and if you are going forward too fast just give it some light pressure on the brake and keep your burnout going as long as you want.

Even at the drag strip you're going to want to roll out of your burnout like this. Don't just sit in one place... lay down some long stripes.

For a launch...surprisingly...there's launch control.
