Interior ceramic coat

I stopped by a detail shop to get a quote on doing the exterior of the car (rail dust, clay, CC). He said they can CC the interior as well.

Leather, cloth, vinyl, alcantara, all of it. 9 year warranty and you never have to moisturize the leather.

Since I'm totally ignorant to all this, I'd figured I come to the experts.

Is this legit?

They quoted $13 bennies to do inside and out.

That’s kind of high for that service. Each market is different but the exterior should go $500-750 and the interior really isnt worth much. The interior work is just cleaning and wiping it down with coating. Warranties arent worth much. Ive nEver seen one that the customer could possibly abide by.

$1300 for both interior and exterior; I got quoted by a very pro looking shop for around $1700 for Crystal Serum Ultra with EXO, so either it's a very upscale shop I got the quote from, or $1300 is for a cheap coat/service, I would argue a regular shop would charge what I got quoted for for a regular combo.

The $1700 quote is for two different ceramic coats that work together. So definitely much more work to do! And I’m speaking from experience...I’m running that same combo.

I know it's expensive but it sure as hell worth it since my car is kept outdoors, also looked those up and they are top of the game for ceramic coats

The guy said most shops charge 1700-1800 here.

I don't know what brand CC it was.

Is there such a thing as CC for the interior? Or is it really scotchgard they use?

Its basically scotchguard. I charge $350-700 for painT correction and ceramic and $175 for iNterior coating in KY. Obviously a different market but thats a high quote wherever you are.

I charge about half that in KY. $1700 is probably about $250-350/hr. I charge $75-100/hr.

Its really not much work to put on a second coat. I always do 2 coats.

Damn, if only you were near me; mind you, this also includes detailing, plus $400 for brakes and rotors

From the looks of it, you could drive to Kentucky, stay at a hotel, get the work done, drive home and still be in less $$

Not really but damn close.

Do it yourself and save the cash.

I recently CC’d my Ram pickup and it turned out great. I performed a double bucket wash on the truck. Then using a detailer (I used 301 Detailer) along with clay bar clothes I gently removed the impurities off the surface with a gentle back and forth motion. Just spray the detailer to the cool surface out of the sun and gently wipe (no pressure) the clay bar cloth over the surface until you no longer feel the surface grime resistance.

Once you’ve completed the clay bar process, then on the clean, dry, cool surface out of the sun begin the coating. Spray the CC sparingly (I used Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray) on the surface, no more than one to two trigger sprays per panel (a little goes a long way) again using a back and forth motion using a clean microfiber towel to spread the coating over the surface. If you coat it once it will last approximately 6 months, if you add a 2nd coat a year.

I just brought home a 2020 SS automatic (Garnet Red Mist Coat with Black interior, mirrors, spoiler and wheels yesterday). I can’t wait to get er done! Hope this helps.
