WTF GM?
Beginning to think this thing is a real 'Friday' car.. Or is it a 'Monday' car.. either way, there seems to have been corners cut.
First there was the door sag, which I'm still not confident in having my dealer try to address and now this... I was taking apart the rear trunk area to prepare for installing the GM Smoked tail lights and unscrewed the four retaining nuts that double as cargo net hooks. I thought it was a little odd at first that three came off as just nuts, leaving the stud attached to the body whereas one came out with the stud attached to the nut. Well anyway, I get to removing the center trim panel and find this underneath. Aside from this cutoff stud bullshit, they then did the most shittiest ass job of drilling a hole in the most piss poor way possible, butchered the trim panel and scratched up the paint, through to the metal in several places. Fortunately, the scratches will be hidden behind the panel so I just touched them up with some blue touch up paint I had from another car. At this stage I'm still somewhat in disbelief.. I've never seen anything like this before from any manufacturer and I've been a car enthusiast of many different brands for many years. I mean, seriously.. WTF?

That's unacceptable, I wouldn't tolerate that. The broken studs need to be drilled out, flange nuts installed and new studs loc-tighted into the flange nuts plus the panel replaced. The hack holes can be filled then repaint the areas.

I think the cargo net is installed by the dealer and not the factory. It's hard to say who broke the stud and did such a bad job on the repair. Either way that was a terrible fix!

Issue arose due to removal of net. Worked fine, looked fine, never any issue.
Dealer installed cargo net. The stud broke off during install. The tech drilled a hole and wallowed it out to provide some adjustability. Got a nut on the back side. Did all that extra broken stud work for zero pay. The scratches were made to OVERSPRAY. There's not even supposed to be body paint there, but it doesn't hurt anything. Nobody ever sees it unless they take the interior apart. No moisture, etc.

I have seen a number of things on the car that I was kind of WTF about, so I get your concern Ricco. I just summed it up to "it's GM, and its a $70k super car... you get what you pay for" I was looking at the C63 AMG Cabriolet and the Maserati Gran Carbio.... I chose this because I thought , and still think, its the best for bang for the buck convertible on the market.... by far. I have just come to stomach all of the "GM" BS that comes with the car.

I'm with you on this. We are buying a $65k super car killa, so we can't really complain. Should we expect GM to be at it's best behavior at all times? Sure, but it's GM. Not Porsche, Ferrari, Maserati, or Lambo. My rear bumper is so far out of whack from the fenders it's ridiculous, but I don't care. The Zl1 hauls the mail and that's why I bought it. To drag people's asses with it on the streets.
