Tonight I drove my car over to a co-worker's house and took him for a ride in my 2SS/RS. After a few kilometers, I pulled over and offered to let him drive.

He has a 2011 Shelby that he drives in the summer months.

He got into the driver seat, made the adjustments he needed to make and away we went. He didn't want to get too crazy right now as I'm still breaking it in and it was a little cool on the road for the Pirelli's.

As he's driving along, I could see a grin starting to slowly spread across his face. Then he started complimenting the Camaro!

The door panel lighting, instrument cluster, clutch, response, power...then he stated how the steering is so much more responsive that his Shelby!

He stated that if he were to buy a Camaro, it would be without the sunroof. (He had very little head clearance even with trying to adjust the seat). But stated it would be the SLP Camaro with the Supercharger.

Now I'm wondering if I am going to see a convert!

He really loved the Camaro and time will tell!

Nice! I have a pic of a guy i watched drive his shelby over a concrete planter in the middle of the HomeDepot parking lot here... hahahahaha

Thats a cool story man!
I had my camaro at a car show a year back. Parked beside a Black Shelby KR. We spoke to eachother and he told me to pop the hood, I told him it was "just a v6" And he said yeah but it makes 300hp and looked under the hood. He was a true car guy, much respect to him.

I'd hate to see what the bottom of his rocker panel looked like after that...:( I'm no ford fan but Damn... that bites...

A very good friend of mine owns a Shelby, he let me drive it last summer. Over the course of planning my Camaro purchase he has been the most supportive and excited friend (aside from my fiancee of course)

He's a die-hard Ford guy, but he had nothing but great things to say about the Camaro. I owe him a test drive. He hated the stock shifter in the car we test drove last summer, and I ordered the Hurst. Such a big difference. We are going to do some pics of both of the cars all detailed up when weather permits. Obviously those pics will go right to these forums ;-)

Someone who truly appreciates American muscle will like the Camaro AND the Shelby! I do. The main reason I didn't take a more serious look at getting a Shelby was that my hubby needed a truck at the same time, and wasn't impressed with Ford's deisel engines. The Duramax in the Silverado, on the other hand... Well, I got the Camaro - 'nuff said.
