Can satin hood wrap be removed without paint damage ?
I plan on buying a new 1LE and was wondering if the satin hood wrap can be removed without paint damage ?
I wished GM made the satin hood an option.... and not installed on every car from the factory. Dave |

Just let it sit in the hot sun for a few hours an should be able to get quit a bit off and then use a hair dryer to get the rest.

In case you were wondering.......
The 1LE was and still is marketed as "track ready", the satin hood wrap on the 1LE is to reduce sun glare off the hood providing better visibility on a road course. But to answer your question, yes it can be removed without damaging the paint. As others have said, use a heat gun or hair dryer as heating the wrap helps with removal.

Dave,I'm sure there's someone out there that has the same color car and would be happy to swap hoods with you.If you're buying new, maybe the dealer can hook you up.That black hood is a trademark for the 1le.
