Thx good to know, I was really pushing it

Track was hot as hell and really slippery
2 cars hit the wall and spin outs all over, the place

The car worked flawlessly, these 1Le’s are amazing cars

Check your oil pan to see if there is any oil residue or dirt stuck onto the sides and/or bottom. I have had 2 separate oil pan bolts become slightly lose (felt about finger tight when I put a socket on them, one on each side) which caused a bit of oil seepage at different times about a year apart requiring me to add over half of a quart of oil each time after tightening them back up which stopped the oil consumption both times.

Maybe it was caused by the vibrations from using curbs on tracks but it does not seem to be a common issue with the 6th gen Camaro.

I think mine is basically the same as yours. It hasn't been to Sebring, but it definitely uses a lot of 0W40 oil in a day of hard pulls.

It says in the owners manual, to ck the oil often, when tracking car, because it will consume oil

At Sebring you are to the floor, most of the time. I had over half a tank of gas, and almost ran out of gas, in a 25min run

Car seems fine, runs perfect

So I’ll ck oil before I start it, when I return to Florida

Just had my first track day at CMP with 2000 miles on the odo. Didn't consume any oil prior to this. Three, 20 min sessions with 5 WOT sections to 100+mph. Used 1/3 quart of oil. Is that good?

2nd vote for this.

My oil pan bolts were working loose after about 2 years. Tightened them and haven't had any seepage since.

As for oil consumption, as of 40K miles and LOTS of track days, I burn 0 during an event. I've never added more than 1/4 qt between oil changes.

OP - that much consumption during ONE event is concerning. Modern engines just don't burn oil. If they do, something is wrong. I'd find a shop (or DIY) to perform a compression check.

Was not sure, how modified those sub 2:30 cars were

I think with G3Rs I could do 3:25s w 305s on front

I was at sebring a few weeks ago with Chin. Stock car except for ferodo pads and motul brake fluid.

Ran a 2:29.6 or so.

2020 SS 1LE with ~3000miles on it when I ran CMP this past winter 4 x 20 minutes sessions, 0w-40 Mobil1 ESP....no oil burning. After that, a weekend at VIR, no oil burning.

I did 2:30 flat only my second time there.

Guys are telling me they are doing 2:23s stock

I think I can get my times down a few seconds, but not 7sec

I’m going to Chin at Sebring end of the month, we will see what happens

PB is a 2:28 on OEM tires.

I'll be there with NASA on 4/17-18 to see if I can shave a few more tenths...
