Tire recommendations.

It's about time and I'm not putting Goodyear's back on it.

Looking for something a little cheaper...

The car is a daily driver...never hits the track. Looking for good wet weather and decent stickiness qualities. Winter is mild and likely not going to have it out in it anyways.

Thanks for any suggestions.

I agree with enzia and bought these tires based on strong reviews and his endorsement, not to mention aggressive pricing plus a rebate. I am very happy with them and consider them an all-around improvement over the stock Goodyears.

There are basically two all-season tires in a similar price range. the Generals and the BF Goodrich Comp2 A/S plus. I just got a set of those I will use as my summer tires (I have two sets of wheels).

The Generals get a slight edge over the BFG's for snow. Vice-versa for rain.

Moving up in price there are commonly recommended tires from Michelin and Continental.

So you want a different max/ultra summer tire? or an all season?

I know some Corvette owners that are convinced the the bang for the buck brand are Continental tires. They claim price, wear, performance, and comfort makes them winners.

I think I would go for all season as my winters are mild. I will not have the car out in snow/ice period so I don't think that will be an issue.

an A/S is going to give you the performance you want from the car? I just question why people buy a 1LE and put an A/S on it year round. You don't have to track the thing but putting an A/S on it like that just is a waste of the cars capability. Just throwing that around. The best A/S on the market is the AS3+. Also good is the BFG Comp2 A/S+, or the DWS06+.

ECS would be a good compromise on price/performance.

I would still go with the AS-05 unless you're completely hooning it all the time. Mine are at 23,000 miles and rears are almost done, but the Tire Replacement Monitor still shows good. They still hook up just fine.

I don't think you are going to beat the price for the generals. Check if there is a current rebate.

The only caveat I would add is the BFG's would probably be better if you get pelting rain storms where the water can't really drain off the road. My son had the BFG's in southwest florida and they can shed a lot of water. We get that kind of rain here in south jersey often enough for me to give the BFG's a try.

DING! DING! DING!
There is a spring rebate:
