Possible to calibrate HUD projection?

I had my windshield replaced because of a crack. The new windshield isn't 100% match with OEM shape so the HUD image is a little skewed (square shape becomes a trapezoid, slightly skinnier on the top). Is there any way to adjust it?

No. But more importantly, why don't you have a proper spec replacement windshield?Insurance doesn't usually go cheap on windshields because it affects the safety of the car (structure and visual clarity).

Edit: actually you could move it up or down using the buttons to maybe get a better reflection, but you probably knew that already.

Replacement windshield quality is critical on the HUD cars. When I bought the car used, the dealer had just had a new one installed (aftermarket). The HUD looked perfect, within a month I caught a rock on the freeway and had to replace it again. Had an independent glass guy come out and do it, said the glass he gets is better quality than the one i was replacing.....HUD has a slight double vision ($480). I currently have several very minor rock pits all over the glass. WHEN not if I have to replace this one I think I will buy it from Chevy.

There are lots of complaints of blurry or double vision HUD with aftermarket glass.

If there is any way you can get your insurance company to replace this with a genuine OEM windshield you need to get them to do this. As long as I’ve known of HUD equipped cars, they require OEM-only glass because the OEM is the only mfg with the license on the proper laminate coating specified for that particular car.

Tell insurance you're not happy with the results and the new windshield is causing issues seeing.

This happened to me as well. Turns out the Windshield was defected. Insurance wouldn't cover GM Glass unless I spend 100.00. But they swamped it out with better glass and the issue was resolved.

On the 2017-18 cars the hud isnt adjustable, on the 19+ cars it is.

GM glass is the ONLY glass I'd use for that. Might be a good idea to buy a million bucks worth of GM glass so you can charge x10 in 20 years. Lol

The 19+ cars can also rotate the HUD projection, or so I heard. However, waves and ghosting can't be helped no matter what, the glass has to be good.

The HUD button allows you to adjust WHERE on the windshield (higher or lower) the HUD will display.

The INFO button will allow you to change WHAT info the HUD will display.

The + - button allows you to change the BRIGHTNESS of the HUD display.

This info is shown on page 134 of your 2018 owners manual.

HDRDTD is correct, but on the 19+ HUD you have another adjustment for the HUD being level.

For the OP though my money is on the subpar glass. I dont care what any glass company says as they are always out to make money, in some instances OEM glass is the only way to go.

From page 137 of the 2019 owners manual, in addition to the 2018 buttons, .....
Head-Up Display (HUD) Rotation
Option
The HUD rotation main view is
located in the options menu. From
the main menu, press p to enter
adjust mode. Press w for
counter-clockwise and x for
clockwise. Press SEL to save and
o to cancel and exit.
