Should I Tint My Camaro?

Since visibility is already an issue I’m wondering how many of you tint your camaros?

I just bought a 2019 V-6 2LT and I’m coming from driving a Honda Accord.

I really want to protect my interior.

My Accord was tinted fairly dark at 20%

Thoughts?

I have 20%. Love it, and it looks amazing.

This is definitely a personal preference but in my opinion the legal limit is still very see through. Tint just makes a car look better too. I'd say since you are worried, only do the legal limit and do a 2.5 inch to 3inch eye brow or sun strip. Although I always do a really dark sun strip.

I just bought a 2018 1LT V6 and had it tinted like a week later. Tinted or not It's not going to change your visibility, unless you get crazy and go super dark all around or something. The visibilty issues on this car are greatly over exaggerated IMO. Set your mirrors properly, and be aware of what you're driving, and you'll be totally fine

By all means yes have the windows tinted with whatever is legal in Ohio. I had the dealer put tint on mine before I took delivery and drove it off the lot. Being down South the tint really helps in the summer months and the car looks so much better with it. My SS is Summit White with the low gloss optional black wheels.

I was torn on what percentage to go. Around here the cops like to pick on cars with dark tint. 35 was a little too light, 20 was a little too dark. I ended up going with 28% and it was a happy medium for me. On my truck I run 2% in the rear and back windows and 5% on the front driver and passenger windows. I would never recommend going that dark on a sports car.

I used to get darker tints but these days the films are very good and reject lots of heat w/o needing to be so dark.

I went with Rayno S9 at 35% and am very happy with the performance.

Ignoring what you tinted the Accord down to . . . with less glass height than you get in a sedan, you shouldn't have to go as dark to get comparable protection for the interior.

I think tinted windows really makes the look on a car. It's fairly cheap, keeps your interior cool in the summer, privacy and always looks good. Percentage can be tricky. I've gone 5% on a lot of my cars and it can be tricky getting out of the driveway at night (without a back up camera). If any of you are local to us we do window tinting and have a shade book to check out.

If your main goal is to protect the interior, and your secondary goal is not to reduce visibility, there are clear window films available. 3M says their Crystalline Series blocks 97% of heat producing infrared rays, and 99% of UV light for sun protection factor (SPF) of 1000.
