Rebadge from a 2010 to 1969 period
I rebadged my 2010 Camaro to a 1969 look. Many of us on this site ask "How would it look?" when it comes to changing something on our cars. Well here it is:
I can post a "Do It Yourself" if there is interest. The last pic is not my car (I'm 2 up from it) but you get the drift.... any thoughts? Last edited by wrbear; 11-14-2010 at 01:30 PM. |

That was my plan too, but the free shipping over X $'s looks like a deal to some of us dang "Free Shipping"...snort...really though I was planning on the full effect. It's not for everyone but we all sleep good at night after we mod our own cars! For those of you that want to take the rear bow tie off. It has aligning holes with pegs on the bow tie so just pull it off and watch out for the paint! I used dental floss to cut through the factory adhesive tape. No clips holding it on. The front? I pulled the bumper off to install the heritage grill...sweating bullets...and installed the SS

I had to adjust my SS badge after I re-installed the bumper. The top plate is removable:
Take the 4 green bolts off (10mm) Take the 2 yellow rubber stops off (by hand) Pop the 6 blue snap rivets off (you can wedge a small slotted screwdriver in the top to pry the piece up. then pull the piece out. They some times comes out in 2 pieces but they snap back together. Remove the cover being careful not to drag it around on the paint (I taped the painted area off with blue painter tape). you will have to work it around the hood lock (no big deal pull the spring lock back if you have to). You now have access to the back of the grill. Align the badge and tape it on for an extra hand if you need one. I used this assembly to be able to push on the locking washer since it was small and hard to put on with my fingers only: You can see the locking nut below the wrench. I placed it in the 1/4" socket and used it as a holder and to have something to push on. One thing, make sure the angle on the badge matches the grill before you put it on. I had to do this because the angle was not fitting snugly on the grill. It looked crappy in my opinion. It's easy post again if you need more help! Last edited by wrbear; 11-12-2010 at 02:05 PM. |

I like it. I would do those emblems if they were to come out with a 20" modern wheel that replicates the rally sport wheels w/beauty rings used in the 60s and 70s.
