Traction light after new tires??
Hello I put new tires on my 2018 SS 1LE rear only though. I got some pirelli scorpion 305/40/20 I’ve only driven on them about 5 miles max. I noticed the light while going home. Any ideas what it could be ? Are the tires too big?

too much difference in tire height. i think about a 1" difference is all these cars will tolerate. stabilitrak thinks the car is sliding when the front and rear tires are moving at different speeds.

Thanks! So basically the tires won’t work right? I have to go back to the stock 305/30/20?

The 305/40-20 tires are 2.4 inches in diameter bigger than the stock 305/30-20's. You could go with wider 315/30-20's or maybe 325/30-20's (not sure if they would rub) and only be 1.8% larger diameter than stock which is I think within the tolerance that the stock stabilitrack system will allow. https://tiresize.com/comparison/ |
