Choosing winter tires
I know its July and way too early to even think about winter, but I like to research and be prepared. Ive been doing a lot of reading and the consensus is to go with 18 inch wheels and a 245/50/18 winter tire on my SS. The question is, should i choose the studless winter or the performance winter tire. Here in Columbus, 95% of the time the roads will be clear from snow. And its not like I will be doing much hard driving in the winter. But I don't want to lose the fun of driving either. I am looking for the best compromise but don't want to overspend.

winter performance tires are appealing. they maintain a bit of the handling characteristics although the tread is still a little 'squishy' during cornering. 19" Sottozero 3 was my choice last year.
It was such a light winter, all seasons would have worked fine..... Although your experiences may be different. |
