2650 Supercharger in route!

I have to say I'm pretty impressed with the Eaton 2650 rotor pack in my ZR1 making 800whp with the stock camshaft and 17-18 PSI and 18* timing! I have no doubt with more pulley, heads/cam (going in next week), ported blower, and ethanol tune this will rock out over 1000whp. So, we'll see what one will do on my LT427 ZL1!

The stock ported 1740 Eaton supercharger was pretty epic making 660whp with the stock sized pulley and our MAX port and E85, 103mm TB, and our Stage 1 Superflow intake! So, this blower is up for grabs now. I'd be willing to do a core swap too if someone was just after the port. This blower is the best port we've ever achieved on the LT4 blower and it set the bar for the port we currently offer!

Our WEAPON-X 103 ported blower with our WEAPON-X Griptec pulley but still a 2.5" stock size and the NW103mm throttle body and upgraded the intake to the WEAPON-X Stage 2 carbon air intake and we were pretty amazed without any additional pulley, we picked up over 30whp and 40wtq in the mid range RPM band and increased peak power to 670whp and 639wtq. This is without a cam, headers, or even any pulley change!

Run 2 - intake stage 1, flex sensor, injectors, hpfp, tune
Run 3 - intake stage 2, flex sensor, injectors, hpfp, ported blower, 103mm tb, tune

Great numbers and I can't wait till our Magnuson 2650 comes out in the 1st quarter of 2019.

Lightbulb Initial Impressions and Plans for the 2650

So the 2650 came in last week and we're already in the process of making our improvements on it from visual impressions and then we'll see what else we do.

For you guys that want one, I have a half dozen coming in from Edelbrock next month!

Pros:
  • Really well constructed unit
  • Impressed with intercooler size
  • Impressed with the attempted intercooler flow with a -12 inlet and -10 outlets
  • 102 MM inlet for larger throttle bodies
  • Port Injection bungs - just need opened

Cons:
  • Biggest issue is the choke point for the air flow above the lid. There is VERY little room for the compressed air to make a 180° turn to go back down into the runners
  • Driver side intercooler outlet has to make FOUR 90° turns to get out of the coolant manifold vs. the Passenger side has to make just one big sweeping bend
  • Need to measure, but I think we'll have to blend the inlet to get the last MM for the NW 103 TBs
  • Need to open up the port injection holes

WEAPON-X Plans:
  • Lid Spacer to provide more artificial plenum volume over the IC brick for improved airflow down into the runners
  • Billet Coolant Manifold with AN fittings for rubber or braided lines and our upcoming dual HX pump setup or the larger Stewart pump setup
  • Snout/Supercharger porting
  • Port Injection Modification with our custom billet rails and brackets
  • Griptec Pulleys from 3.5" down to 2.5"
  • Custom high flow intercooler brick
  • Custom Carbon Forged taller lid kit for hood/cowl clearance

Giant dual pass intercooler:

Port Injection:

Lack of plenum volume:

Plenum airflow has to make a 180° turn in this small cavern.
At 15K blower RPM, it's expected to move 1500 CFM
At 18K blower RPM it's 1700 CFM
At 25K blower RPM and more free flowing inlet, Magnuson shows this rotor pack capable of moving 2500 CFM!

So, needless to say we're going to free up a little more space to help this breath more!

Cooling Manifold Adapters:

Four 90° bends to get out on the driver side:

102mm Inlet just needs a little porting

I like the spacer idea. Not sure I would want some crazy expensive carbon lid

Not sure why someone would need to port one of these but ok. I suspect your holding the throttle body out of place but I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and say you must have a preproduction unit. EDF hobbies can you caliper or measure yours? I’d love to see the results. The gasket and caliper tell the story

I took my car last night to Sorian's to be tuned I can't measure right now maybe tomorrow.. I drove it on the stock TB and filter box since Vararam is making me a Big Gulp intake so it's not installed yet and the fact I didn't have a turbo couple from 4.125 to go to the CAI elite elbow.

I think matt will tune on the stock TB then Patrick from Vararam is bringing a box with a bad ass horn that has some serious velocity not sure it's quite 5 inches but all the testing he's done 5 inches isn't the sweet spot.

maybe tomorrow..

p.s. it drove pretty dam good on the tune it had didn't go over 3k and it whine pretty decent..

I did notice that the LT4 blower the vacuum is -15 on the gauge and pretty steady that's at idle and not much throttle.. the eforce was -10 and moved a bar or 2.. I though I could feel some surging in high gear at constant rpm. idle smooth as silk and and ran good. wonder if the stock vacuum line is to small vs that ugly crap it came with.

Is that something that'll be released to the public eventually...? I had a Vararam on my C6Z and always preferred their design to the other intakes on the market. Same with the gen 6 one they plan to release.
