They are out. Spoke to Alex at CSP. They should have the new gesi gen 2 1700hp rated cats soon. These will bolt to their csp headers and just need to be welded to my front pipes.

I’n the meantime I’m Thinking about getting the borla 60608 resonator. I see that it’s 2.75” only for the ss, but I’m Wondering if I’m can just expand the ends a bit so it slips over my front/rear pipes.

I’d rather not weld anything just in case I want to remove it.

I have the ARH high flow cats. I'm at around 750 at the crank. They have 17000 miles on them. Anyone have experience with them ?

On the vette and cts-v forums I’m seeing slot of posts where they failed. Your at 750 crank you said though so you should be ok.

Honestly, for the price that an endoscope costs it’s worth the security. Stuck it down an o2 bank/bung for quick visual. Once they start to go, they go quick as the airflow is reduced more and more.

I'm at around 750whp on e60. My Kooks std high flow cats are still holding up after around 12k miles. I've heard the Kooks high flows hold up as well as their Green cats.

When I read this it tells me you don’t spend enough time at wot.

No disrespect.

But if your driving it like you stole it for 12k those cats shouldn’t last.

Mine didn’t make it 20 track miles.

He’s an SS also, not a ZL1. That’s the first thing
I look for before taking anyone’s advice here for gospel. And don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying he doesn’t have valid info to add, just that when discussing causes and effects on ZL1s with LT4 I always make sure I’m getting info to that spec.

This.. Boosted is a big killer of cats. Another reason why kooks/gesi don't warranty the high flows on boosted applications is because they are even worse then the greens. The green cats are indeed a good product, but they are rated at 425hp per bank, that's the problem.

I am hoping these new ones by gesi rated at 850hp (per bank) hold up better. Like alex at CSP said, they have to be making better ones for a reason because these Gen 1's just cant handle the power.

You could have done some weight reduction, too, y'know, then the car wouldn't need such insane power to get off its butt

Just for my fun and a little louder I don't race generally but you know but not at the track.
Not sure...according to Dragy the car traps 135 full weight on 20's in 1200da. That is probably in the 680-700 range. The secondary's have held up fine but they are not made with the same material as primary cats. That is why I deleted primary and kept the secondary's. They don't look as restrictive as the high flow GESI gen 1 stuff. Since I now have a resonated Borla mid pipe going into a Corsa NPP(which is quiet as stock when closed), I am probably going to install headers and do full cat delete.

I don't run it like I stole it except on track days. I also never track on straight 93, I always run at least e55 or so. On the track, I definitely do not go easy on it. I run in the advanced group unless it's my first time at a particular track and am always one of tthe fastest cars. I have out paced McClaren 720s', ZLEs, Z06s and various Porches that should have been faster. I am very surprised that my cats haven't melted, and while it's possible that I'm on borrowed time, I believe the combination of e60 and Ted J's turning are keeping those cars alive.

I am sure the Ethanol helps being it lowers cylinder temps which will lower EGT's.

Point taken regarding comparing data between LT4 & LT1, however, for this particular situation, my being a stock compression, boosted LT1 would only exacerbate the cat overheating issue. I really believe you 800 and under whp LT4 guys would be fine on e60. On the back straight at Road Atlanta, I'm at the top of 4th gear at ~140mph / 6500+ rpm, lap after lap with no issues so far. I'm pulling the exhaust to add a magnaflow X-muffler next week. I'll take another look at the cats and serve up a big Ole slice of humble pie if they're showing any signs of pending failure. I've had the exhaust off multiple times, for various reasons, and they always look fine...it has been awhile since I last looked, I will admit.
