Don't think i'm going to make it. Sold the Black Beauty today and my 1LE might not be here in time. Hoping it does. Had a good time last year. Crossing finger she shows up early.

I wont be able to go with you guys but wanted to share a few pics I took a few days ago while I was in Borrego. There is a fantastic spot to take pictures from a turn off area on Yaqui Pass Rd. About half way before it starts to turn more sharply north. Also if you continue north about 3 miles from the traffic circle on Borrego Springs Rd. there is an AWESOME statue of a serpent/dragon to take pictures next to. I stitched 8 separate images together to create a panorama in front of the serpent that I am now using as my computer desktop background. I think it would be super cool if someone could duplicate this with all of you Camaros parked in front of it. Be warned this time of year it will be super hot and you have approximately 22 seconds after leaving your vehicle before all of the bugs locate you and begin their attack.
BTW, there was some construction on the 79 for a short stretch while I was driving to and from SD to Borrego. It shouldn't cause too much of an issue but there was a LOT of dust. There was also a lot of loose gravel on the 78 and on Yaqui Pass Rd, so if you aren't planning on taking pictures of your vehicle when you get to Borrego it might be a good idea to tape up your gills in front of the rear tires to prevent rock chips. A bra on the front of the car would not be a bad idea either considering the amount of bugs I had stuck to my front bumper when I got home. Have a great trip! On the 78 coming out of Julian. Nikon D5200 w/ Tamron 24-70 @ 56mm f/16 1/100sec ISO 500 Yaqui Pass Rd turn off. Nikon D5200 w/ Tamron 24-70mm @ 24mm f/16 1/50sec ISO 100 Yaqui Pass Rd turn off. Nikon D5200 w/ Rokinon 14mm f/16 1/160sec ISO 100 Yaqui Pass Rd turn off. Nikon D5200 w/ Rokinon 14mm f/16 1/400sec ISO 100 Montezuma Valley Rd. above Borrego Springs. Nikon D5200 w/ Tamron 24-70mm @ 24mm f/16 1/30sec ISO 100 Borrego Serpent Panorama. Nikon D5200 w/ Tamron 24-70mm @ 24mm f/18 1/40sec ISO 125 on Tripod. 8 separate images stitched together in Lightroom + Photoshop My favorite of the whole trip! |
