Are smog legal shorty headers worth it?

Only a few options for headers living in an anti-fun state like CA.

https://www.summitracing.com/parts/jba-1818sjs

Found some JBA shorty headers with an EO letter making them compliant. My question is if it is even worth upgrading to shorty headers over stock. I completely understand how long tube benefits more and alters the exhaust note.

Any of you guys have any additional knowledge on this?

You already have smog legal shorty headers that came with the car. Only longtubes would be worth the upgrade

I'm already chancing smog with the intake, but how much of a headache would headers be to push through? I mean, takes me 20-30 minutes to switch an intake out, headers...not so sure.

Not sure if making some friends and greasing palms with a Benjamin or two would work.

it will for me and has for many others but if you are strict about this then keep your stock headers, like the other member said only longtubeheaders are worth the switch.

Im buying the rest of my Borla Catback setup in spring, would this be worth it without tuning my vehicle later next year?

https://www.borla.com/products/camar...rt__17293.html

From what I understand, some long tube headers will throw codes without a tune, something I am avoiding till I do an E85 upgrade/tune late 2019.

I too want to go header, but knowing Cali, it's probably best to go CatBacks /or cut out for that roar system

I’d port the casting flash out of the stock headers and have them coated.
