I've always had good luck with Nitto 555's for an all around performance street tire. They do nothing great, but everything pretty well. Generally they'll go 30K+ miles, they work well in wet weather. They're no DR or R-compound, but they handle and hook very well to be as long lasting, and aa good in poor conditions as they are. They aren't as expensive as most European tires either. From my understanding the 555 G2 is an improved version of the old 555 in pretty much every way.

You can sell the stock wheels and tires and run a square setup on aftermarket wheels if it bothers you that much. Probably 285 or 295 is the max width for a square setup to avoid rubbing depending on the tire diameter, aspect ratio, and wheel offset.

Nah, does not "bother me" so to speak, I knew what I was getting into when I bought the stagger. I could have gone Mustang.
