Here is a link to our install instructions for this shifter(part #3916034). We are not offering the classic white knob as an option at this time, but if you really wanted it, you could order the stick portion from our classic Billet Plus shifter for the 2016 Camaro SS(part #3916031) and then have a place like Speed Dawg make a custom shift ball with your LT's shift pattern on it. Sounds like a lot of work, but it is an option.

Treat your 6th Gen Camaro LT to sharper and shorter shifts. Join Steve as he shows you how to install a Hurst Billet/Plus Shifter in your car.

Is there risk of damaging the engine mounts by lowering the transmission with those still in place?

As long as the transmission is supported properly, and is only lowered enough to gain access to the front of the shifter housing, then you should not have any issues. If at any point during your installation you need help, don't hesitate to give us a call at 707-544-4761.

Thanks for that feedback. I want to be sure I'm not putting excessive stress on the engine mounts - I'm not familiar enough with the engine mount design yet to know firsthand.

I'm debating between the Hurst shifter and the GM 1LE shifter. I really do wish the Hurst shifter offered an option to keep the factory knob.

Is there anyone who’s installed this on a V6 Camaro who could review it?

I test drove a V6 1LE and was disappointed to find that the shift action wasn’t as good as that of the TR6060 in the SS. Can this kit improve TR3160 shift feel to TR6060 levels?

Edit: saw the install video and it reuses the same half-arsed stock shift linkage. Not a good sign...
