Between the A8 transmission shudder that has plagued GM engines, and the AC that apparently requires a dissertation for maintenance and operation, what would you label them?
At the very least they clearly can't handle any humidity. |

You need to stay on the 5th gen forum page! I used to own a 2010 SS but wouldn’t get on the 5th gen forum and bad mouth them! The 5th gens had their share of issues and problems too.

I live in humidtyVille in south FL, were its 97% almost everyday. I had a 17 and now a 18 with no issues with smell like the OP describes. I too owned a 2010 and 2013, they weren't perfect either...

He doesn't know what he’s talking about and doesn’t even own a 6gen Camaro! Enough said!

It's just sad to see some of you in here taking on the role of apologist in place of GM for their shortcomings. But that's exactly why they continue get away with churning out this type of quality. |

If you run on recirculated air there should be very little moisture on the evaporator core as the recirculated air should have way less humidity and moisture than the 90% humidity outside air in the summer. If you run the system on "fresh" air from outside, the evaporator will collect tons of moisture as it removes the humidity from the outside air, saturating the evap core and box.
None of my cars ever stunk from the A/C system in +40 years of driving. OP Try a new cabin filter, see if you can find one with carbon for odor control. Then see about getting your evaporator disinfected. Our shop does this treatment, seems to work pretty good.
