I love the sound and feel of my v8, but when have i ever really put all the power down as someone who doesnt race? The answer is maybe once or twice as soon as i broke it in and then its just like any other car. Plus the v6 with npp sounds so nasty anyway that i would be happy to have had it if i went with it

Test drive one. If a 2002 Trans Am WS6 had enough power to make you happy today's V6 Camaro will too. I simply could not afford an SS so I bought a V6 and I am perfectly happy with it. It has all the power I need.

Can you afford a v8? If the answer is yes then drive them both and see what you like more and get that. If the answer is no get the v6, itll still put a smile on your face everytime. If you dont have to then don't settle

You'll never regret having the most powerful motor offered, and that you can afford. I had a 370Z with 335HP and it was quick. Nothing like the V8 in this Camaro though.

Hey what is the setup you have to record that? One of the things I really wanted from the ZL1 was the PDR like in the C7 Z06 (I have fun using that thing.)

Like others have said you will never regret getting the biggest motor available, whether you regret getting the V6 instead of the V8 depends on you. Although I owned a 2010 V6 and it was pretty damn fast for a V6 and I drove one of the newer ones and still impressed me. That being said if I had to pick a fully loaded V6 over a 1SS... I would get the 1SS every time. 0% APR is a great deal, but like others said they will do it again if you need more time to save money. Don't spend more than you can budget for though!

I have a 1LT V6 because that's what worked best for my budget, but if the choice were between the fully loaded V6 and the 1SS I think I would still go with the V6. The gas mileage, and regular fuel have a long term savings and I think that I would use the extra features more often than the 455 HP.

I really love the power of the V6, even in hilly CA when our other cars would downshift and still not handle the hills the V6 just powers right up with easy power. 335 HP is really pretty powerful in a light car like this. I plan to do autocross with it, but I know I'm not good enough to need a V8.

I didn't drive the automatic versions though because I love manuals, so I don't know if I would have made a different choice if I wanted an A8.

As a former v6 camaro driver and current v8 owner, all i can say is do not settle. If you feel you are settling, then dont get the v6 and just wait till you save up more to put down a large down payment to where you can make the payments with ease and afford the insurence and fuel.

Just dont settle, or you will end up regretting your purchase like i did.

Thats not to take anything away from the new v6 tho, its still a freakin fast car and can take a corner with the best of 'em. Either way, you will own a badass performer. Just please, dont feel like you are settling when you make your purchase.

Track addict for the iPhone, it gets a little shaky at speed. I had to move it forward to avoid having the base of the mount show up in the video. GoPro one day.

Many on this forum may disagree with me, but even though I could afford the V8, I went with the V6 as I preferred the sound coming out of the V6 NPP vs the V8 NPP, as well as the lower cost of ownership. Also with the V6, you will have more than enough power for most situations. Just my 2 cents.

Talking A Balance...

I would have greatly enjoyed the V8 - but for what I was trying to do, the V8 would likely have resulted in (more) tickets, more insurance, more money spent at the pump, and a more costly car note. For my purposes, THIS v6 is plenty fast, and accomplishes everything I wanted. It may not do that for you. You should at least drive it and decide. It's a wonderful engine, and with the right exhaust is sounds amazing. It's not the same sound as a V8, but most of the people who have ridden in mine, even without NPP, really like the way the car goes and sounds.

It's different for us all - for me I did not settle. If I'd gotten a Subaru WRX, I'd have been settling, but not with this V6. I wanted a smooth engine that sounds good, delivers power in a linear fashion, and goes fast. The handling on this alpha platform, even on the base car is amazingly good.
