I'm interested in ProClip also but not sure if I should go with the console or dash clip.

Whst made you decide on the Console clip?

I guess what really matters is whether or not you need the info on your phone screen to be line-of-site when you’re driving. (I don’t.) I like that it’s out of the way, since it’s really a second-use screen for maps and the Valentine 1. The big map, call accept/reject buttons and everything else I need are in the car’s dash display via Apple. Also, I’ve run into public employees who will pull you over for having non-OEM “accessories” above the dash line because “they block your vision and are could fly away and hurt someone in a crash.” One actually suggested I mount them on a board between the headrests.

FYI, The ProCip is very solid and doesn’t vibrate, there’s no interference with the passenger’s legs and you can easily tuck the power cord wiring under the edge of the console. One caution: ProClip is dead-on with its specs, so measure your phone (with or without the case) carefully.

Pics of my dash mount with phone:

It barely comes into my field of view. I like that I can make a quick glance at the phone without taking my eyes off the road - much like looking at the HUD vs down into the dash.

I've been using this one in my previous car and it works so well I bought another. Sticks amazingly, very solid, and the holding mechanism is just perfect. It's exactly where you expect it and make is effortless to put it in or take it out.

I attached it to the passenger knee panel. I don't particularly like it there but there wasn't really any other options.

Is it easily removable, and does it leave any residue when removed?

It is a "gummy" type suction cup which makes it stick very well even in the blazing Phoenix sun. I'm sure it will leave some residue that can be cleaned off. I don't plan on taking it off so it wasn't really a consideration. Though mounting it to an easily replaceable part was not accidental. Honestly, I was looking at bolting a different mount to that piece but decided just to try this one and it worked really well so I abandoned that idea. But it's easy enough to get a new knee pad if it's damaged so I didn't have much of a concern. Your opinion may vary..

I like the placement location, just worried about when I have passengers in the car

That's actually the main reason I don't like it. It is kinda in the way. Fortunately I have no friends.

Ok, I know this is a ZL1 forum and I don't have a ZL1, but this applies to all model Camaros!

Pro Clip Console Mount, simple, out of the way and works!
