Question "Your in driver seat 1" every car start?

Every single time now when I get in and start the car it pops up on the dash with that "you're in driver seat 1 or 2". Why won't it go and stay away!? Any suggestions or help? Honestly can't remember when it started besides I think weeks back when I got it from the dealer..

I've seen this after disconnecting the battery but it has gone away. Have you ever selected to dismiss it or confirm it (not sure on verbiage) by hitting the select button on the wheel?

Agree, I see it post battery disconnect as well. Goes away. Can't recall if I dismissed or not but might be a solution.

Me too, but it's like stuck this time. Guess maybe disconnect battery and see what happens? Yes I've always dismissed it. Tried leaving it once I think, but it either disappeared on its own or didn't affect anything. Just weird how it won't go and stay away.

The driver #1 and #2 is tied to your keyfobs.

If you are the only driver and use the same key this message shouldn't pop up. But, if you use both keys then the message pops up all the time.

At least this is my experience. I assume this is for the saveable seat positions.

That's so interesting!!!!!!!!!!! Never woulda guessed that!!!!!!! I used both keys. Ones on my work keyring after first job I go to my second job. And then for weekends I use the other key fob on my "main" keychain. But now that I think of it, both keys have that message pop up on the dash. If one did it and the other didn't then I could troubleshoot that way, but when they both create the same message, what's there to do? hmmmm

But your original post has merit, it's happening to me also. And I only use one key all the time, the other one is locked away with my office, I've never used it. After disconnecting the battery and doing some work in the car, for about a week now I've had the message that I have to dismiss...... I can only assume that it goes away after a month's worth of use or something like that .

Oh wow, if it's happening to you Glen then something really is going on. Hmm guess we'll all find out after some time if it finally goes away.. But think about this, do any of us recall having this issue when we bought the car? I don't ever remember this being an issue or I woulda posted it here..so wonder if there's more to this..

My memory function seems problematic, so I turn it off. No one else drives the car anyhow.

Problem I have is that the driver side mirror has a mind of it's own when I have memory enabled :(

How do you turn it off? Think I did once in settings, but the issue continued. Did that solve the issue? You had same issue we have? What was the mirror doing?

When I brought baby home; I thought I had #1 fob on my key-ring, but kept getting this message, so I switched key fobs and now I don't get the message anymore.

Hmm. I get the message with either key. Wonder if there's a way to make them both in sync cuz seems like they have different signals coming off that tell the car which key is which. If there's a way to tell the car that both are the same then you'd think the message would go away.. NO idea how to do that though, pretty sure it's gotta be programmed. Still lost message hasn't gone away..
