Waiting For Delivery....Why Does It Take So Long?
I placed my order for a 2SS back on 11/11/20, and the build was complete on or around 12/8/20. The car was verified with status 4200 through the order status forum thread on 12/17/20.
Communication with the dealer at that time indicated it could arrive the week after Christmas. Whether that was a case of "over-promising" by the dealer or not....I don't know. It did get my hopes up that it could arrive sometime around the New Year. Well....it didn't arrive then....and it still hasn't arrived as of 1/16/21. I've been in daily contact with the dealer to try and get some kind of idea where the car is, and why a delivery would take 4 weeks from when it was noted as shipped. Is it really this impossible to find out where the vehicle is at in the process? Aren't trucking companies required to use manifests to document what they are hauling? And with GPS technology, shouldn't it be reasonably simple to track the whereabouts of a shipment by the shipping company? When I inquired again early this week, the dealer said the zone rep had indicated it could be here Thursday 1/14 or Friday 1/15. No dice. Did not arrive. This wait is painful, but it's worse when you don't even have an idea of where the car is at in the process. Dealer is reaching out to the zone rep again on Monday. Is this just the way it goes? |

You can ask the dealer to activate OnStar on the car, and then you'll be able to track its location from your phone.
Deliveries can be tracked with the shipping company at palsapp.com. Plug in your VIN and it will tell you the status, and, give you the delivery receipt if they already have your car. Back when I ordered my car, Chevrolet Live Chat could be used from their website to request status information directly from GM, this probably still works. Finally, Joe P here is very helpful with everyone, you can ask for details (such as your VIN if you didn't receive it from the ordering dealer, or the latest status code for your order) in his tracking thread: https://www.camaro6.com/forums/showthread.php?t=415251

That's indeed a bit too long...Seeing how the my car was super overcharged in the US, I had a friend in China order it for me. Tbh it was a blind and a extremely risky buy. But luckily enough, I received my car in one piece. I was worried that there may be a problem with delivery, but the seller sent my package through a local chinese delivery service. I was a bit reluctance because I didn't know how to track a package . However, apparently they have a system allows you to know the location of your parcels 24/7, kinda cool lol

My car is sitting at the plant awaiting transport. It's only an hour & a half away from home. I would go get the thing myself if I could. Working in the auto industry, I know logistics is tricky.

I know that's painful. You would think they would give you that option to pick it up from plant if you are able too.
