Katech Stage 5 ZL1 1LE SN# 06

One of the more recent cars to roll into our shop was this Summit White 2018 ZL1 1LE. The owner originally upgraded to our LT4 Stage 4 package and decided that he wanted even more power. We gave him just that, and upgraded him to our Stage 5 kit. The car now makes 859whp and 792ft/lbs.

Stage 5 E85: 859whp, 792ft/lbs
Stage 4 E85: 702whp, 657ft/lbs
Stock 93: 540whp, 502ft/lbs

Very true statement. The car is surprisingly tame for the power it makes though.

Amazing performance times we live in. A couple of questions for you:

1. Do you think this Stage 5 859 RWHP would be over 1000 HP at the crank?

2. Where is the weak point in the Camaro when HP goes up? Engine internals? Clutch/transmission? Half shafts? Cooling?

Just asking because of a love for cars.

I am one lottery ticket away from your door!

Would love to see how this does on a Road Course.

It seems the Alpha chassis can hold a lot of power

1) This would be a 1000 hp engine at the crank

2) I am not as familiar with the Alpha chassis, I currently own a 5th gen. What I do know is that the 6th gen is levels above the 5th gens as far as structure and engineering goes. If I were to pick a "weak point", it would be the LT1 rotating assembly. The LT4 is great on the other hand.

It will be sweet to see on the track. The Alpha chassis can put down a lot more power than the previous generation Camaro assuming it is set up right.

I heard the LT4s were having crank issues? One of my autocross buddies had his Z06 at the dealer for a bad crank and he found on the forums that it was pretty common.

There was a recall on the cranks if they were measured to have excessive crank end play. Our experience with them has been good so far with no major concerns.

It'll only get better once the 2650's start to hit the shop.
