I cross shopped a Mustang and a Camaro. I much prefer the Chevy layout. I understand the ergonomics, more space, bigger trunk, easier to get in and out of... But to be quite honest, I found the overall layout and look of the Camaro far more appealing. In the Mustang you're sitting in a car, seating position is pretty much the same as a Camry. The Camaro has a sports car seating position, lower to the ground, it's like it was designed to lay low and go fast. Same thing with the cockpit lay out. My first impression was like sitting in a spaceship. The Mustang was like sitting in a... car. There's talk of building a Mustang sedan. Yeah sure, just extend the wheel base and add two doors. Already feels like any other car. The aluminum brushed dash did nothing for me either, if anything I thought it cheapened the overall look. The center console screen with toggle switches was okay, but not better than the Camaro. I actually like the vents and the positioning of the screen in the Chevy. Makes all the sense with the seating position and glare. My only concern about the interior was the plastic knee pads. Leather wrapped replacements were purchased and installed in 5 minutes. I even think the hard plastic on the dash itself looks very good for what it is.

The Camaro usually takes the objective measures, interior/exterior styling is subjective, different strokes for different folks. In reviews I tend to just look at the objective comparisons and let my preferences decide on everything else.
