Trade in my 16 2SS for a '19 2SS (A10)??
I can't take the shuddering jerky transmission anymore and I don't want to wait for the class action lawsuit.
I have a convertible that I love. But driving it is kinda miserable when not drag racing. I went and test drove a '19 2SS with the ESC and the A10 transmission and I was blown away! I really want one now. The problem is that I would be giving up my convertible - which is an easy trade off for the better handling. And I would be losing money on my trade due to high mileage and repairs (someone hit me in the parking lot and it required body work, shows up on carfax). So here's the deal I have gotten: 2019 2SS 15k miles 1 Owner (rental) $33,899 (price recently dropped) Finance offer %4.99 I owe $22k on my current car and they would give me $19k for it. Thoughts? Good? Bad? Ugly? This is all happening so fast, I didn't expect to like the '19 that much. |

Not a good deal for you! If they allow you 19G for yours and you owe 22G then they will tack on the extra 4G to pay it off on to the price of the 2019. So you would have to finance 38G on the 2019! My advice is to pay more on your loan and wait for the 2020s and get one in 6 to 8 months if you can put up with the 8 speed shudder problem until then! But you do what is best for your situation though!

Rolling the $3k to get out of a 16 A8, into a 19 A10 sounds like a no brainer to me. Even at $36k, you're still at a great price on a 2SS.
Park your 16 next to the 19 and then take a few pics on your cell phone. Go home and look over the pics overnight. I'll bet the 19 continues to grow on you and makes the choice easy. The ONLY concern would be the fact the 19 was a rental. As long as theres no obvious wear, and it's warrantied, you should be good.

It's a '19 2SS A10, yes it's going to be more than your 1SS.

lol, no way. That's a piss poor deal. But someone needs to stimulate the economy, so go right ahead.
Did you do the new fluid change on the transmission? It has fixed it (temporarily, at least). GM extend and pretend is working for now |

Yeah that's a bad deal man - you'll be underwater 3 grand, and on top of that it's likely that the vehicle would have been driven hard those 15k miles.
However, if you really think it's that much more amazing than your current Camaro, go for it. This is 'Murica baby And the car is in warranty. Wait for like a week or so and see if you still want it as badly then. Let the initial feeling of excitement wear off. If you haven't changed your mind by then - you have a new Camaro. |

You're being offered 19k for a 2SS convertible? Seems low.

Yes. Flushed multiple times and torque converter replaced. I thought it was just me, but I drove friends cars and got jealous of how smooth they drove around town. The class action lawsuit against GM was the last straw.

There's newer fluid since Jan this year. I'm guessing you haven't tried it. Lots of folks saying it's making a difference, might as well get it done. |

What a horrible trade. NADA says average trade is almost $26k.
My thought is go sell the car first and stay away from rentals. |
