Going away from run flats—is the 1LE inflator kit an option?
Going to a non run flat set of tires. I will be carrying a plug kit, but wondering about an inflator. Is the OEM kit decent or am I better off with something aftermarket?

Probably better off with aftermarket. No suggestions though.

Go to Walmart and check out their plug in tire inflators. They plug into the auxiliary port in the console and you can inflate your tires. Advance Auto, Auto Zone, O’Riellys will have them too. My ZL1 has the factory inflator but I have the one I bought for my 2010 SS in the Z too. I used to keep it in my 2016 SS even with the runflats and took it out when I traded the car for the ZL1. I keep an tire inflator in my Chevy truck too! Hope this helps you.

I went with the Viair 88P which attaches directly to battery terminals. This is huge upgrade from the plug-in units for not that much more money. |

Here's a few pics I have on my phone. The finish was really nice, but the install was not fun. Shes a little dirty in the 1st one. As far as looks, it looks just like the OEM piece but with the extra diffuser molded into it. They probably did this prior to making the mold for it. The clips are a pain. Nextgen has a video that was very helpful.

Thanks for the tip. I picked up the Viair 88p kit on Amazon. If I leave the cord and hose stick out of the carrying bag, it tucks away nicely under the trunk floor.

Just had to use my inflator last weekend after finding a screw in the 3 month old LHS 275 Pilot Sport 4S. Same as this:
https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000L9AD2K..._qRceDbW1345ZE Plugs into the 12V port. Worked great. The plug is the Slime brand you seem to find in every auto parts store, and after a week of regular driving it's holding the pressure just fine. |
